We do not take our brand lightly. We are passionate in every avenue of our business. Quality is always top of mind, highest quality products, customer service and global impact. We believe that with success comes a great deal of responsibility, we take doing our part very seriously.
We know it is our responsibility to improve social and environmental standards in communities where we live and work. Over the years, we have worked to improve sustainability practices, and emergency relief efforts in the vanilla and cocoa growing regions.
In Colorado, we have built our corporate offices to be energy efficient with a drought-tolerant landscape design. 100% of the energy we use is derived from wind power or alternative sources. We work with local non-profits that help make Fort Collins, CO a better place to live, including our local food bank, Climatewise and Trees Water and People.
Located in Fort Collins, Colorado we have the backdrop of the revered Rocky Mountains. We see nature at it’s finest, and it is an intense daily reminder to take care of the stunning world we live in. Our facility is wind powered, and reducing our carbon footprint is a cornerstone of our business practice. We are committed to our environmental program; which reduces our greenhouse gas emissions, promotes energy efficiency, pollution prevention and waste reduction.
Rodelle is committed to giving back. Rodelle partners recently returned from Uganda, working with local farmers to launch a stove project. We believe making a difference is integral to sustaining and growing our Rodelle communities.
The energy-efficient stove project is a collaborative partnership with Trees, Water & People nonprofit organization. About 75% of families in Uganda cook over open wood fires and cannot afford electric or gas stoves or access alternative fuel sources. These open wood fires create serious problems including deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions. In an effort to alleviate these issues Rodelle and Trees, Water, & People will provide energy efficient stoves made from sustainable materials. This new project will work with the local farmers and people of Uganda to lay the groundwork for a better future. In creating a sustainable system, we can create an industry that will also uplift the Ugandan economy, all while changing lives.
We believe that providing superior spice and extract begins in the field with the grower. The success of our business rests on developing productive relationships with suppliers and farmers who provide us with the finest ingredients for our Rodelle products. Each year, we contribute to projects that protect the environment, and promote social and economic development in our key growing regions. To date, efforts include: providing sustainable practices, improving water sanitation, and improving standards of living.
Madagascar: We support Conservation International: and its partner FANAMBY, a Madagascar-based non-governmental organization. Our funds support their work with the vanilla growers to protect area biodiversity and improve the livelihoods of farmers and their families. In April 2007, we donated to UNICEF to support emergency relief efforts following a series of cyclones that struck Madagascar, devastating parts of the island’s vanilla coast. Our contribution helped provide families with temporary shelter and water.
Uganda: We helped fund the installation of a new well at an orphanage in a vanilla-growing community near Kampala. Today, the well provides clean water to more than 200 children and staff. In 2011, we will be working with the growers and their families to introduce energy efficient cooking stoves.
