This vanilla milkshake recipe has three ingredients- that’s it: vanilla bean ice cream, cold milk, and vanilla extract. It’s up to you whether you want to make it organic, but either way, the results are delicious. The whole thing takes about 3 minutes, blender to glass, good for a hot afternoon or whenever you want dessert without turning on the oven.

Tips for the Best Vanilla Milkshake

  • Use the ice cream straight from the freezer. Let it soften too long, and the shake turns out thin.
  • Too thick to blend? Add a splash more milk. Too thin? Add another scoop of ice cream.
  • Real vanilla extract will drastically impact the flavor of this milkshake.Since there’s nothing else in this recipe to cover for imitation vanilla, we suggest choosing the highest quality pure vanilla extract you can buy.
Ingredients
